Pastor Jeff Blain

Pastor Jeff has served the people of Ascension since November 1993. He previously served a two-point parish in Gays Mills, WI, and Soldiers Grove, WI for several years. Pastor Jeff attended California Lutheran College and then moved to St. Paul, MN to complete theological training at Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Carol married in August 1983. They were blessed with two children, who are now adults, and a beautiful granddaughter.

Some of Pastor Jeff’s favorite things include studying and teaching the Bible, playing racquetball, and solving puzzles. He enjoys cheese, cheesy potatoes, and just about anything venison or rhubarb - just not both together!

Pastor Anthony Wick

Pastor Anthony recently joined the staff here at Ascension, having previously served as Director of Volunteer Ministries at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Richfield, WI. He received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Prior to his formal theological training Anthony was a musician, writing music and toured with multiple bands. He still plays music regularly, as this is still a deep part of God’s calling in his life.

He and his wife Jessica were married in August of 2011, and have four beautiful children that span the ages of 2 years to 11 years old.

He enjoys spending time at home with his family, reading, writing, playing music, lifting weights, cooking and playing Magic the Gathering with his close friends.

Steve Miller

Steve has been part of Ascension since its earliest days, back when worship was held at Theisen Junior High School. A Wisconsin native, Steve spent three decades in the corporate world before feeling called to a change of pace that would allow him to devote more energy to his church, community, and family. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve Ascension as Parish Administrator, helping support the mission and ministry of the congregation. Outside of work, Steve treasures time with his wife, Kay, and their son, Macallan. A lifelong guitarist, he continues to play semi-professionally in several bands, seeing music as a way to glorify God and bring joy to others. He is also a passionate foodie who loves gathering people around the dinner table for good conversation and storytelling.

Lori Quackenboss

Lori has been a longtime member here at Ascension Lutheran Church with her husband Jim.

As the Young Adult Ministries Coordinator Lori is responsible to coordinate and conduct ministries and activities to appeal primarily to young adults (members or not) and those who are young at heart.

Jessie and her husband Jeff have three active teenage sons. In addition to caring for her family, she enjoys gardening, canning, baking bread, and playing the piano.

Ken and his bride Kaye are longtime members of Ascension. He grew up on a farm south of St. Peter and raised his family of one son and two daughters in Fond du Lac. He worked nearly 40 years at Mercury Marine Racing Division and recently retired.

He has served as custodian at Ascension for 20 years and is involved in various ministries including Men’s ministry and Prayer ministry, as well as participating in Bible studies.

In his free time, Ken enjoys family activities, gardening, and is getting back into fishing and traveling.
